So my #kindle is acting up (or it may be amazon); a bunch of files are just not copying over, and a book I bought (yes, amazon evil, I'm aware and trying to move away from it, thanks) is flatly not uploading to the kindle.
Customer service is useless, and I'm more than a little angry right now: why the fuck isn't there a #chromebook friendly #Calibre solution? why are we expected to a) have a linux-capable machine, and b) learn fucking linux just to move our fucking files off amazon?

I have a chromebook that converts to tablet for drawing purposes. I rarely use it and I want to degoogle it. Is this possible for a NOT TECHY PERSON to do it EASILY AND SIMPLY because no I dont want to fight linux for it to read my wifi card or be able to send stuff to print. Must be able to run internet, libre office, and a good drawing program (no idea options for this). The OS must allow a good tablet mode as the screen works with my fancy drawing pens and is very precise, and this functionality is the most imperative to not lose.

ChromeVox is telling me to use commands involving the search key as a modifier, but these seem not to work as any use of the search key invokes #Google #Gemini. What's going on here? Additionally, how are #blind people using #Chromebooks? In what tasks do they excel. In what tasks do they fall short? Any input and/or information would be greatly appreciated.

One of my team found this #Chromium #Chromebook bug today. Seems to be model & hardware specific (Lenovo Chromebook S330 with MediaTek, but not other model Chromebook with MediaTek)
Ein wenig grobe Arbeit mit dem Schraubenzieher, ein wenig Schreibschutz aushebeln, ein wenig Firmware flashen, ein wenig Linux installiere -- und schon ist ein HP Chromebook x360 entgoogelt und läuft über Ubuntu Mate. Der Touchscreen funktioniert auch immer noch.

Well, that worked. My old and slightly tired Chromebook is now enjoying a second youth as a dapper Linux laptop, running Pop!_OS. My favourite distro Kubuntu turned out to be a bit too much for it.
