Thanks Marty, today we're going to hear a song I sang at my Senior Composition Recital.

I was taking Music History when I learned the music terminology art song and I thought, that's what I'm writing for my recital, art songs.

One of those songs I called "Twin Stars", a love song based on my life with Vivian.

It's been 10 days since I left MacDowell. I was awarded a MacDowell Fellowship, which brought me a very productive four-week #ArtistResidency there. (A five-day Vancouver stay followed for another upcoming project in June). I jumpstarted a couple of musical projects - five commissioned pieces, in fact! - during my stay, with premieres set in Europe for 2026/2027. Thank you, MacDowell!

Heard something that stuck with me on a podcast yesterday. In the mid 2000s, music people assumed that you just had to be on Myspace. And we all know how that story went.

Today, we assume that we have to be on social media. But what if the big platforms are the next Myspace? I, for my part, have gotten most of my collaborative music making opportunities from real-life (meetups etc). Not all of it makes money, but... well.
