Kinda cringe tbh.” Normally I’m pretty good with criticism (if it’s constructive) but there was nothing really constructive about that comment and since I was just starting out, it really got to me. A few years later I’m here to say that dancing does not need to be graceful. It does not need to be slow, graceful, demure, coquettish, or pretty. It can be loud. chaotic. Insane. Yearning. Deep. Intense. Dramatic. That’s the kind of dancer I am. Moreover, I’m also here to say the only standards you need to meet are yours and no one else’s.
