Today in Labor History January 18, 1788: The First Fleet arrived in Botany Bay, Australia, with 736 convicts from Great Britain. It took over 250 days to reach its destination. The penal colony became the first European settlement in Australia. Mary Bryant, with her husband, children and 6 other convicts escaped the colony and eventually returned to England. Many believe the British deliberately brought people carrying smallpox on the voyage in order to decimate the indigenous population.

@TomWellborn and yes, #Musk is an incompetent asshole, cuz #CAwildfires are combatted by the best of the best, with #USFS's "#Helljumpers" on the ground.

I'd bet €500 that Musk won't pass basic firefighter training and be kicked out of my local fire brigade for being an antisocial asshole who cannot be trusted and noone would entrust him with their life.

  • Because in the end that's what makes or breaks an entire platoon of #firefighters: Either everyone is trusting each other to have their backs and help or they are incapable of anything.

I know that Musk will loose this bet if he were to take it at all (cuz he's a #coward!) because he lacks something he can't buy or get done for him:

  • Being a human being with actual empathy and a conciousness!

Seriously, Musk would not be allowed to even serve as #convict #firefighter because he's just a spoiled brat.
