Dr Helen Wilson<p>Swelltor Quarry, near Princetown, Dartmoor, Devon.</p><p>These twelve granite corbels lie at the side of the former tramway (visible on the right) about halfway up/down. They were cut for the 1903-4 widening of London Bridge but never used. They were either condemned because of iron marks or were cut too short. Still, they make a convenient stop for a break on the way up to, or down from, the quarry.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Dartmoor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Dartmoor</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Devon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Devon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Quarrying" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Quarrying</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Granite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Granite</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LondonBridge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LondonBridge</span></a></p>
