@blueghost @dyne , is it based on #Devuan?

Converting my dev laptop to https://devuan.org/ - Debian fork minus systemd.
Going well so far...
I think it's about time I ditched Arch Linux for Gentoo. Arch has gotten easier and I've gotten bored with it. Once I've settled to Gentoo, I'd have Void Linux scratch my "Arch Linux" itch
I mean, I've already explored Linux distros with different inits. I don't think anything can stop me when I have Arch, Gentoo, and Artix wiki handy
Look at that: If you dislike systemd and like debian packages, but want Phosh instead of hildon (on Maemo Leste), Movuan has you covered:

Basically, that's a #devuan for your #PinePhone
#Movuan

I use 3 browsers for different purposes: TorBrowser, LibreWolf, #FireFox After the latest events now I use #TorBrowser #LibreWolf and #Vivaldi
In my case for my #Devuan system I downloaded Vivaldi from the official site
https://vivaldi.com/ and then on a terminal I used the following command:
sudo apt install ./vivaldi-stable_7.1.3570.58-1_amd64.deb
Pretty simple uh?

Today marks 10 years since the first Devuan installation isos were released. @jaromil posted the "pre alpha valentine (secret love declaration)" announcement to the DNG mailing list:

So take a trip down memory lane and feel the love for the #Devuan team and our users and celebrate their dogged determination which has beaten the odds!
May the fork be with you!

So, from my notes:
#voidlinux: symlink a service's name from /etc/sv/ to /var/service to enable a service then sv up & down will become available for that service.
#chimeralinux: dinitctl, kinda like systemctl
#devuan: update-rc.d <service> default to get it on the runlevels, then enable/disable to do fun things. Only do update-rc.d remove when the package is removed from the system.. Gotcha
Just gonna explore Void Linux and probably other systemd-less distros on stream. There's not much that's gonna happen, probably just reading documentations and stuff while playing around with these distros.

Time to move the entire server farm to #Devuan, then...
[jpeg]
Type=^JPEG
Open=/usr/lib/mc/ext.d/image.sh open ALL_FORMATS
View=%view{ascii} /usr/lib/mc/ext.d/image.sh view jpeg
(gefunden in https://bugs-devel.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1053150)
Das Paket identify habe ich im Repo allerdings nicht gefunden.
Wat will der von mir?
Devuan Daedalus, alle Pakete aktuell.
And I'm not saying that #sysvinit is more difficult or that #systemd is easier. Is that currently I don't have the time or motivation to search and read documentation to do something that I know how to do already in #systemd.
Then why did I try to install #Devuan? Because of curiosity, mainly. I thought "Why not try this now?" without too much consideration. I tend to take many life decisions with that mindset .
I think I've become spoiled and/or too accustomed to #Systemd, because last Thursday I tried to switch my home server (an old netbook) from #Debian to #Devuan and I failed miserably. Not because it was too difficult, but because it was... tiring.
See, like many #Linux users, I like to mess around with computers and learn new things, but at this stage in my life I have other things to think about instead of configuring #sysvinit and learning again how to set up a service to run without login.

I was obsessed in using Testing but for some reasons, mostly lake of spare time, I started using and installing stable and I discovered it is just fine. The few programs I need up-to-date I use flatp... I am just kidding... I cloned their repository and I compile them by myself and when I am too lazy I look for the appimage version...
And the only Linux distro I recommend is #Devuan...
