It was only here, completely unplanned, that we found out that the small Plaza del Proto (where we're staying in #Córdoba) - or rather an old inn and its stables -, is mentioned by Cervantes in his #DonQuixote.

Le smog à cause des feux de forêt! Un peu tannent d’entendre à répétition dans les médias les affirmations de la santé publique sur ses dangers pour les 65 ans et plus. Je ne dis pas que c’est inoffensif, juste que chacun est libre d’évaluer si le risque est présent pour sa santé. Tout comme au moment de la COVID, je trouve qu’il y a quelque chose d’infantilisant pour les aînés dans la façon dont les médias portent le message. Bref! Ça ne m’a pas arrêté!

Alors qu’on disait que la région de Montréal était la plus polluée au monde. Vendredi je suis allé faire ma promenade dans la nature. Quel bonheur de m’être retrouvé au bord d’un plan d’eau où j’étais entouré d’une dizaine de familles de bernaches et de leurs petits.

Autre petit bonheur de la semaine, ma nièce a accouché de son deuxième enfant. Une petite-fille qui s’appellera Victoria. Je suis donc grand-oncle pour la seconde fois.

Enfin, samedi j’assistais en matinée au spectaculaire ballet Don Quixote, présenté à Montréal par Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Un bel après-midi rempli de joie et de bonne humeur. Ce ballet dont l’intrigue se passe en Espagne nous a transportés dans l’univers magique de Cervantes. Je suis les Grands Ballets depuis l’adolescence et je peux dire que la virtuosité était au rendez-vous. Un pur bonheur.

Marcello Guiterrez était un Basilio magnifique et Anna Ishii une Kitri merveilleuse. Les deux danseurs forment un couple dans la vie. Devant un public en délire, lors du salut final, Marcello a demandé Anna en mariage. Un beau moment auquel il fait grand bien d'assister! (voir la vidéo)

I’m approaching halfway through #DonQuixote and still thoroughly enjoying reading it. It’s a mixture of farce, romance and tragedy with the main character being a mix of #WalterMitty and #BaronMunchausen who’s often hallucinating, though he does have his lucid moments. I’m reading an English translation but I’d like to ask anyone who’s read the original Spanish text or indeed any expert to answer the following question...

I’m reading #DonQuixote by #MiguelDeCervantes at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it. Since overhearing a little of it in an audiobook not long ago, I realized that it was not a dry #book at all. There are glimpses of what later authors, like #PGWodehouse and even #TerryPratchett took from it and also characters like #InspectorClouseau show traits of the deluded hero of the book.

I've actually had this idea for...almost a year? I have no idea, time and space no longer mean anything to me for a long time. Point is, I've been poking at this for months and I swear to god, Canto 7's final date for premiere is what pushed me to finish this. I came up with this "poster" idea after some time playing Limbus, because as a Puerto Rican, my only associations with Don Quixote up to that point were the novel and our local rum xD;; (https://donq.com/)
