#Efficacy of late-onset #antiviral #treatment in immunocompromised hosts with persistent #SARS-CoV-2 infection, J Virol.: https://journals.asm.org/doi/full/10.1128/jvi.00905-24?af=R
These data indicate that late-onset DAA therapy significantly shortens #duration of persistent virus #replication in an immunocompromised host, which may have implications for clinical use of antiviral therapeutics to alleviate the risk of progression to severe disease in highly vulnerable patients.

Investigating #temperature thresholds and #duration required to effectively neutralize #H5N1 HPAI virus is necessary to better understand #inactivation methods. FDA is working on multiple efforts to understand the effectiveness of #pasteurization and other inactivation methods.
#Duration of #fever in #children infected with #influenza #H1N1pdm09, #H3N2 or B virus & treated with #baloxavir, #oseltamivir, #laninamivir, or #zanamivir in #Japan during the 2012–13 & 2019–20 seasons, Antiviral Res.: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0166354224001475?via%3Dihub
We compared fever duration between baloxavir- & 3 NAIs-treated groups. ...For influenza A, fever duration in baloxavir- & NAIs-treated groups was similar. For influenza B, fever duration was ∼15 h shorter in baloxavir-treated group.

but #freeasabird?!!… maybe it’s time for me to think of a new #saying to represent my #stateofmind when i #travel in the future.
this another #lastminute #nonplan of mine is probably the #craziest in terms of #duration… lemme not focus on that too much and i will then tell you whether it’s #crazy or not when it’s done.
Well designed information is clear, unambiguous, and enhances comprehension and other human performance.
The illustration below shows a duration. Several design changes could each have made this usable, such as adding a space:
23:00 09:30
or a word:
23:00 to 09:30
It's not hard to snicker about amateurs. I've given you a boost for having been so keen to point out Will Shanklin's <em>"apparent gain"</em> instead of <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Celestial-Time-Standardization-Policy.pdf">Arati Prabhakar's <em>"apparent loss"</em> ... and for keeping the attention, too.
Coming up with some (presumably) correct + still reasonably short description seems more challenging (to me). My best attempt so far:
<blockquote>
<b>If</b> two astronauts had met "somewhere in (cislunar) space", and subsequently separated from each other,
- with one astronaut venturing on to land on the lunar surface, and
- the other astronaut returning to the Earth's surface,
such that (as may happen in selected trials)
- it takes both astronauts exactly equally long, resp., from separating until reaching (halting on) the Moon, or on Earth,
after some (not further specified) while, either astronaut perhaps being prompted by suitable prearranged signals,
- both again take off from Earth, and from the Moon, resp., and they meet again "somewhere in (cislunar) space", where again (trials must be selected such that)
- the duration of one astronaut from her take-off until the re-union meeting
- happens to be exactly equal to the duration of the other astronaut from his take-off until being together again
<b>then/therefore</b>
the astronaut who had stayed on the lunar surface had remained there
(pretty much) <b>exactly</b>
\[\left(1 + \frac{58.7 * 10^{-6}}{86400}\right) \approx (1 + 6.8 * 10^{-6})\]
<b>times as long as</b>
the astronaut who had stayed on the the surface of the Earth had remained there.
</blockquote>
So: Good luck, #NASA ! ...

Diabetes Duration Linked to Alarming Brain Structure Changes
A Michigan Medicine study found that the longer an individual has type 2 diabetes, the more likely they are to exhibit changes in brain structure, such as decreased cortical thickness and gray matter volumes. Despite no discernible difference in cognition between those with and without diabetes, complications like chronic kidney disease and vascular damage in diabetes are linked to these brain changes.

Crunched the numbers to see the impact of baseball's rule changes on game lengths.
• Games are 35 mins shorter than 2021 peak.
• Cardinals' avg of 159.1 mins is just a hair above the MLB avg.
• Cardinals played in 2nd-longest 9-inning game this year.
ZIRP for a decade led to:
- VCs FA’ing, but never FO’ing
- boom in solutions to non-existent problems (i.e. crypto)
- concentration in commercial real estate, rather than housing
The mismatch of risks, durations, and sensitivity to interest rates takes down SVB, Republic, and Signature.

Correct calculation. But:

That's imprecise + improper.
I strongly prefer + suggest:
... then the inertial twin was _separated (from "me")
longer than
("I was separated from him")_ by that factor.
(Treat proper "aging rates", too.)

That's much to do with what we mean by (how we define = measure) "#Speed".
Even better ask: What's a common description of all sets of events in which "we all" (individually) took part ?

There's no mentioning of [[#Duration]] [[#LorentzianDistance]] [[#SyngeWorldFunction]] ...
