Kelsie<p>This book was recommended by my therapist. I am so glad I found it. This author's life mirrors some of my own. I felt the heartbreak of breaking free from a broken family, and I felt the struggles of starting a higher education after almost no real schooling (thanks, mom). PC<p>I was <a href="https://mas.to/tags/educated" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>educated</span></a> in the 70’s but I am a lifelong <a href="https://mas.to/tags/learner" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>learner</span></a>. </p><p>One thing I’ve noticed is that in much of <a href="https://mas.to/tags/science" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>science</span></a> and <a href="https://mas.to/tags/history" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>history</span></a> that was taught all the way into <a href="https://mas.to/tags/college" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>college</span></a> was incorrect or misrepresented. Plate tectonics was strictly a “<a href="https://mas.to/tags/theory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>theory</span></a>”, as evolution and genetics were presented. Erich Von Däniken was taken nearly as seriously as Carl Sagan. </p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/Wikipedia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wikipedia</span></a> later generated a lot of <a href="https://mas.to/tags/fear" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fear</span></a>. We were <a href="https://mas.to/tags/warned" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warned</span></a> against using it. </p><p>I love Wiki!</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/Knowledge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Knowledge</span></a> and <a href="https://mas.to/tags/information" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>information</span></a> have come a long ways.</p>
