Sarah<p>Installing AntiX on an Asus eeePC from 2007, now in 2025. AntiX install was much smoother than a few years ago. Jesse<p>Booted up my old laptop from 2010.<br>An ASUS EeePC (1005NA, 32bit, single core Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1GB) running Arch Linux (Linux 2.6.35) with dwm and dmenu as the desktop environment, it's the only laptop I've ever bought for myself ($250 second hand in 2008)</p><p>It's just been in a box since 2010. Kevin Karhan :verified:<p>Thanks to a donation by <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://tilde.zone/@lupo" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>lupo</span></a></span>, I've been able to test <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://infosec.space/@OS1337" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>OS1337</span></a></span> on a real <a href="https://infosec.space/tags/EeePC701" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EeePC701</span></a>-4G and so far this seems to have only some minor hiccups.</p><ul><li>OFC I've first ran into the <a href="https://infosec.space/tags/137GB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>137GB</span></a> barrier with the <a href="https://infosec.space/tags/BIOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BIOS</span></a> when booting my regular <a href="https://infosec.space/tags/Vendoy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Vendoy</span></a> drive but then again at the time the <a href="https://infosec.space/tags/EeePC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EeePC</span></a> was released, 240GB SSDs were unobtanium and would've costed propably more than a dozen 701-4G's retail...</li></ul>
