Dr Pen<p>The map shows very clearly the scale of the industry of universities. Yes Walmart is massive but the amount of states/area covered by universities as lead employer is vast. When we think about edtech, and now AI apps sold as standard process for 'digital transformation', we can visualise the billions of dollars generated by this sales pitch. So:<br>1) Farm <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/productivity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>productivity</span></a> will go down, history has shown this. Lower productivity will lead to scarcity leading to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/inflation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>inflation</span></a><br>2) hiring enough US citizens to match current productivity will require higher <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/wages" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wages</span></a> -&gt; inflation.</p><p>That <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/employers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>employers</span></a> can get away with paying such low wages is another topic.</p>
