[Focus on the #EnVision mission] Why have #Venus and Earth evolved so differently? This is the question to be answered by the EnVision #SpaceMission of the European Space Agency - ESA, scheduled for launch in 2031.

To this end, the European #probe will carry several instruments - including an imaging #spectrometer, to which IRAP staff are contributing. Observations will be made in the UV and IR domains, in order to monitor temporal variations in #surface temperature and gas concentrations within the #atmosphere - and thus gain a better understanding of interactions between the Venusian atmosphere and surface.

Envision AI. Envision is creating an AI personal assistant that you can name and personalize to your liking. They want it available not only to those using their glasses, but also to those using their free app. They call it Ally. Ally is currently in Beta, and I was just approved to be on the growing beta team. Since it is a beta, it does make mistakes, but it is getting better over time. So, I'm beta testing the Ally feature on the #Envision Glasses . It's pretty cool! Earlier, I decided to see what all coffees I had in my cabinet. I picked them up, and the ally correctly identified all but one. I don't fault it for the one because the bag is runnning low, and the label could be obscured. It was amazing to, hands free, stand at my cabinet and ID items. Game changer! @letsenvision

Happy Saturday Mastheads. I am now in possession of the #EnVision glasses. There seems to be a bit of a learning curve, but I think I can conquer it. I’m having a little trouble with some of the gestures, particularly the two-finger down swipe. It keeps interpreting my two fingers as one. Guess I need to work on that. Otherwise, onward and upward.

I’ve never been a fan of ear buds. I found the cord always got tangled up and they’d get yanked out of my ears and they were just not very comfortable. However, now that Sarah has bought me the #EnVision glasses as an early birthday present I have invested in some because I don’t want to walk around with my Bose over-the-ear headset on and not be able to hear anything else.

So, Envision is doing this survey. It says to choose my country. I can't type U N to search ahead to United States. I can't hit the End key to move any nearer to it. So I closed the tab. I do *not* have time for AT companies that can't test any outgoing communications, or media, or surveys, or whatever, for accessibility.

There was a paper pinned on the wall in the lift at work today. I tapped my #Envision glasses to detect text on the paper. Turned out to be a concert ad, in Estonian. Since the Envision glasses do have GPT4, I told them to translate it into english, which they did. Asked the glasses for details about the venue and it described where the concert takes place, however was unable to tell me the address, since it wasn’t featured on the ad. Felt quite empowering. I know I can do most of those things via different apps on my phone, but it feels somewhat magical to just do it all by tapping and talking to your glasses.
