So my #fairphone3 died the other day. It's possible it's just the battery, as I had issues charging and was too distracted to pay attention.
Perfect excuse to have gotten a #fairphone6 , and you know, it's pretty great. Got the version with /e/OS preinstalled, natch, and it's really no worse an experience for naive users than stock Android IMHO.
So there's no need to let your phone spy on you.
Except the price tag. So many people go for a phone their carrier supplies. 1/2

This 5 years old, well-used and still working #fairphone needs a new home. It comes with a A. Treurniet leather cover and two batteries, the original from time of sale and one additional battery bought in 2023. The bottom module was replaced in 2025 and is running fine now.
The display has some damage at the top right corner and was glued to its back after a fall.
The FP3 is currently situated in Germany.
Tady ještě porovnání s #fairphone3. Ten fotil pomocí Open Camera. Nevím, jestli to má přímo vliv na kvalitu, ale přišlo mi dobré to zmínit.
@BryanGreyson so I guess @fairphone / #Fairphone did not partner with @GrapheneOS / #GrapheneOS nor did they reverse their #FeatureRegression since #Fairphone3 (removal of 3,5mm jack, removal of 2nd #SIM slot because #eSIM is not real #DualSIM!) ?
Ich denke mein #fairphone3 hat jetzt endgültig den Geist aufgegeben. Lässt sich nicht mehr laden und auch nicht mehr einschalten. Jetzt steh ich wohl wieder vor der Wahl. Neu, oder doch lieber gebraucht(besser als ein fair prodziertes, ist ein gar nicht extra produziertes). Das Fairphone5 ist ja doch auch schon älter und man redet schon übers 6er.
Habt ihr eine Meinung dazu?

Ma conclusion pour le moment est :
"Je ne dirais pas que c'est un échec, je dirais que ça n'a pas marché".

changé de cable
changé de port
activé les options développeur transfert de fichier par défaut
activé le déboguage USB
redémarré le téléphone
rééinitialisé le téléphone en mode usine
essayé sur un autre ordinateur avec ubuntu (mais je débute un max alors ouarf).
=> il est invisible pour mon ordi, le fourbe
Are any #Fairphone3 folk having trouble with dual SIM after the last update? Texting - which I do often for work - is now not behaving. Sim choice is 'ask every time' for texts and voice calls but if I set it to text from sim2 looks like it's ok but just sends from sim1 every time regardless. Voice calls are fine and they do call from chosen sim. Any suggestions? #fairphonecommunity

Beim Fairphone der Gemahlin das Display ausgebaut, Kontakte zwischen Mainboard und Display mit Isopropylalkohol gereinigt, Stäubchen mit Pinsel entfernt und das Smartphone wieder zusammengeschraubt. Seither scheinen Touchscreen und Display wieder störungsfrei zu funktionieren.
Finde es schon sehr cool, dass derlei ohne Klebegehampel möglich ist.

Oh mist, mein #fairphone3 stirbt mir weg. Ich musste die letzten Monate den Ladestecker immer im richtigen Winkel und mit bestimmter Mondphase laden. Und jetzt lädt es gar nicht mehr. Es wird wohl Zeit für ein neues Handy
@empathicqubit the reason I didn't buy the #Fairphone4 (and #WontBuy the #Fairphone5) is because it's a massive #downgrade from the #Fairphone3+:
no real #DualSIM (#eSIM is not a valid replacement unless it's a removeable #SIM card!)
Removal of 3,5mm #TRRS jack (#Sony made #waterproof jacks over a decade ago for their #Xperia Z line!)
Way more expensive (I'm not gonna pay > €500 for a smartphone!) than is reasonable for any smartphone whatsoever.
No features worth the cost of upgrading; only #downgrade|s!
J''ai installé /e/ os sur mon #fairphone3 il y a bien 2 ans et à l'époque j'avais trouvé un #tuto simple en français. Les copaines d'une asso vont devoir l'installer a ma place ce weekend sur le fp3 d'une coordo et je voulais leur transférer le lien mais je le retrouve pas. Si des mastonautes ont ça sous la main je veux bien un ou des liens. #mastohelp le repouet libère des ordiphone

Schon schick, wenn man - nur mit einem Schraubendreher und einem Plektrum bewaffnet - mal eben eine neue Front- und eine neue Rückkamera ins Smartphone einbauen kann.
