Germany is now deporting pro-Palestine EU citizens. This is a chilling new step (The Guardian)

The country’s so-called political centre has licensed a new era of authoritarianism – to the AfD’s delight.

Germany can choose to uphold the principles it claims to stand for, or continue down a path of authoritarianism.

Far-Right Greek Politician vandalized ‘Sacrilegious’ Artworks

#Far_Right #Greek Politician vandalized ‘Sacrilegious’ Artworks in Athens’s National Gallery.

To heap insult on injury, his lawyer has alleged that the politician was “unlawfully detained and that "they will take legal action against the National Gallery"!
An eyewitness to what happened, spoke about the #vandalism: “These artworks did not simply come down, they were screwed to the wall and terrifying violence was used to make them come out and fall down and break".

Greece’s #Orthodox Church condemned... the artworks but did not make the slightest reference to the vandalism!

Meanwhile, the Greek Parliament censured its member with just a salary cut in half for a month.

Fica a dica...

Hat tip to this Brazilian judge, with the ethical clarity required to stand up to Elon Musk's disinformation machine.

"Alexandre de Moraes, the influential supreme court judge responsible for the ban, had been spearheading an attempt to force X to purge anti-democratic, far-right voices in the wake of the January 2023 uprising in the capital, Brasília, carried out by supporters of the former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro."

The Guardian · X goes offline in Brazil after Elon Musk’s refusal to comply with local lawsBy Tom Phillips

Remember in 2020 when MAGA hordes were trying to overthrow a democratically elected government Twitter suspended Trump's account. Now, Elon Musk owns X, as Twitter is now known, and not only has he restored Trump's account, he has played a role in fermenting far-right riots in the UK after the electorate dared vote in a Labour govt. I think the US govt should be preparing to block Twitter in an emergency situation.

Sharon Graham:

“It wasn’t the migrant who crashed our financial system in 2008. It was not the migrant who imposed austerity.”
“We need change now. Not waffle about responsible spending or fiscal rules.
“None of this talks to the worker or their community. It just plays into the hands of those that seek division.
#Labour has one shot. If they fail to deliver, the populist right will emerge ever stronger.”

We all thought it, Dame Sara Khan publicly says it.

"Conservatives left UK wide open to far-right violence, says former adviser"

"Khan, who wrote a report in 2021 with the current Met commissioner Sir Mark Rowley calling for a change in the law on extremism, said it remained the case that it was legal to stir up racial hatred that is not threatening, abusive or insulting."

Joe Mulhall, head of research at anti-racism research group Hope Not Hate.

“That reflects the nature of the contemporary far-right. There are large numbers of people engaging in activity online but there’s no membership structure or badge - there are not even formalised leaders, but they are directed by social media influencers. It’s like a school of fish rather than traditional organisation.”

If you have ever wondered why some ex-military guys get involved in far right extremist groups, I recommend the 4/4/2024 episode of the Lincoln Project podcast. And if you've never thought about it, just keep in mind that trained ex-military guys, motivated by the leaders of such groups and by all the far right propaganda that's out there, could be a very dangerous force. For those old enough to remember the old "A-Team" TV show, think of a groups like that but with a whole lot more members, and led by people with bad intentions (possibly because they have bought into the far right's agenda, or even are unknowingly influenced by Putin's efforts to bring down America) who are determined to destroy democracy as we know it. That should concern every American, and our allies.

The Far Right Narrative.

Has anyone ever wondered, who the alleged far right are? It's any of us, who dares to use technology in search of similar hunches, validating our inclination, that the conventional wisdom, if one can call it such, emanating from the mockingbird media and the deep state establishment. They aren't afraid of us, we don't intimidate them and yet, especially in the context of the internet, the wish to limit the reach of our thoughts, ideas, speech and associations, by extension.

Even those of us who have no followers, no audience, no influence, no guns no money, our thoughts, speech and expression, must be curtailed, especially when it is nonconforming. It wasn't enough to stamp us out on the larger, more popular social media platforms, now they will have to come up with more draconian ways to keep us in our very, confining spaces and places. It's just an opinion mind you, but it seems that the politicians, media, academia and many corporations, seem concerned that people aren't getting their information from centralized locations. They'll have to fix that. They'll have to fix "our democracy." Because if there's anything, that a purported democracy cannot tolerate or indeed, withstand, is the existence of many information sources.Information, in the eyes of our enemies, must be controlled, edited, censored and conform to the wills of the ruling, elitist, factions. Otherwise, it's just far right, terrorist, white supremacist, conspiracy theories and very mad lies. Democracies seem to be weak in the presence of such atrocities, somehow.

Another observation of the "Far Right," narrative, is the fact that, the pen is way more mighty than the sword, forget about civil war, when Americans, using the internet to connect with like minded souls utter speech which offends others, the alleged offended parties and their allies will, instead of civil war, take anyone who dares to speak freely and truthfully, to court and make their opponents broke and bankrupt. Presumably, if one is poor and penniless, then presumably, liquid measures of blood, and respective measures of flesh, will hopefully, have to suffice. One is quite sure that, this is what the founding fathers of the US, clearly intended and quite possibly, a majority of US politicians, judges and bureaucrats, especially on the federal level, would agree in the affirmative. Therefore, while we all work on our war crafts, it may well be advisable, to become, intimately comfortable, learning about the law and her nuances. Since they don't have to beat us in fights, all they have to do is take us to the courts. Many of us may soon find it more in our interests to learn to defend ourselves in that arena as well as on any battlefield.

The enemies of freedom aren't going to stop. They're as tenacious as any pests, therefore it may be advisable for many of us who believe in that great myth, called freedom, to each of us, work in our local areas to enact the political changes which will benefit us.It will also give us opportunities to renew our relationship with our neighbors. Our country is too geographically, expansive to enact any effective changes, other than from local efforts. That may shield us from the power hungry people with their useless jobs that seem to pay them, extraordinary sums of money. Like those jobs being wasted on the federal payrolls. Also, we'll have to rely more on our counties, our towns and our states, since the bloated federal government is now bloated with more than just more pork. They are bloated with tremendous amounts of debt. A debt to the tune, of thirty five trillion dollars. Now that's a very hefty amount of zeros, but it is also a hefty amount of currency as well. An amount of currency, which one suspects, could not be repaid, even if every person, illegally or not, residing in this country, had all their possessions including the clothes on our bodies, still couldn't come close to cover. Oh yes, and that includes the hated corporations and wealthy too. The sum of all our wealth, as it were is microscopic, relative to the reckless spending and wasting by the federal government. Oh, and with the interest payments, already surpassing the trillion dollars mark, yearly, it is no wonder there is such loose talk about slaves and slavery, since that and several thousand years of hard servitude, may be the only way to pay it back. I should stop now, since I do not wish to give the ruling elitists anymore bright ideas, on how to solve and satiate, their greed and need, for power.
