Ich wünschte, ich könnte in #Tusky alle Posts mit bestimmten #Hashtags ausblenden lassen.
#FeatureRequest
Something I miss in the #Pixelfed & #Mastodon software: the possibility to have lists (like the circles in Google+) and show some content really only for some close friends.
I don't wanna show everything to all and have more privacy. So I still need to send everything via Signal and co.
i have no idea if #misskey写真部 , #lemmy or any other #fediverse software has that feature.

I want open file formats with alt-text metadata that are compatible with most Fediverse software:
Upload an image or video to Mastodon, Pixelfed or whatever, that has alt-text metadata and it will automatically display the alt-text in the Fediverse.
Download the file and it will keep the alt-text.
Bonus: A metadata field for Fediverse creator. So people can download and repost media files and they will display the original creator just like Mastodon can do with link previews.
EDIT: In the replies we've gathered so far:
* There is an existing issue for Mastodon: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/14903 (I don't open Microsoft GitHub™, so I didn't read it)
* PNG and probably many other file formats already have appropriate metadata tags that could be used.
* Fedi devs have to agree on one way to implement this -> #FEP
* While uploading a file you should be able to edit or replace the metadata alt text with your own alt text and then be able to choose whether you want to replace the file's metadata or not (So your post can display the alt text that is specifically relevant to your post, while the file can be downloaded with a more general alt text).
@Gargron Is there any way to keep Lemmy posts like this out of our timelines other than blocking individual users and domains after the fact?
If there isn't, I wonder if you've contemplated service level filters. I'd definitely use it.
While I'm sure some users love getting posts like this, I bet there is a sizeable if not larger group that doesn't.
Thanks in advance.
@stux I would love that.
@Mastodon, @Gargron, can you add the :nokings: emoji mentioned here (link below) to the mastodon.online instance?

Dear Mastodon makers, could we add some more options to the "Automatic Deletion" section of settings?
Currently it's only for our own posts but allowing for bookmark, favorite, and boost deletion with similar options would be pretty handy.
We need to keep this complex machine in top condition!
Hi @tagesschau, #FeatureRequest: Datumsangaben vor den Artikeln auf Themenseiten wie https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/digitales wären super!
It would be really cool if you could post a second poll following a first, that was restricted to ONLY the people that voted in the first. Maybe a special "Post Privacy" button that says, "Only to voters in the previous poll" or something that's not quite so long and cumbersome.
@signalapp
Signal App
I have a feature request: (also sent in the app, but in case this is of interest to others in the fediverse.)
So often I get a call meant only for one person, in a group chat, and so does everyone in the chat. Or I accidentally call when I'm in a group chat, meaning to call just one member of the group. (Anyone else?)
In that situation, could we have a warning pop up saying something like: "You are calling all members of this group. Do you intend to call everyone in this chat?"
I have a question for everyone: Does it matter if I use #underscore_tags versus if I use #CamelCaseTags?
Personally, I find underscore-based tags to be vastly easier to read honestly, and more flexible too.
If I had my say then the two tag formats would be treated as semantically equivalent, such that the posts tagged with either are pooled together!
Thus, for example, if one post was tagged "c_programming" and another was tagged "CProgramming" then they'd both show up in each other's results.
Does this already happen? If not, then consider it to be a good #feature_request (or #FeatureRequest) for the #Matodon platform.
PS: I also am asking this question on Bluesky tonight to see if I can get an answer there too perhaps.
What are your thoughts?
Mastodon Feature Request.
More in attached image...(including ALT text)
This is a Mastodon Feature Request I noted down on Etherpad.
Wish @Sony had a built-in flash/ambient subtraction feature. Take two quick shots (flash on/off), get a clean image of only the flash's light. Would be super useful! #SonyAlpha #FeatureRequest #Photography
Mastodon should have a feature where you can write your posts in multiple languages, so that people don't have to rely on the automatic translation for those languages.
I'd like to provide my posts in both English and Danish, for example.
dear #DuckDuckGo or other search engine: I want a little button next to every #search result that lets me exclude it from all search results for me, personally, forever. With an option to block the entire domain.
I'm definitely looking at #pinterest but there's just a lot of #AI slop out there. Tons of AI-generated websites. Even without the AI search "helper" things, I get a lot of shit that is just really low quality.
I don't think I see this witih DDG (there is a "give feedback" button with unclear effects on my personal search experience) and I'm not familiar with many other search engines now (except google and no). But if there's something out there that already has this functionality, I'll be happy to check it out and happy for the referral.
You know what would be great in #mastodon? Having a separate feed/column for all the hidden/filtered posts in your Home timeline.
So that I don't need to be reminded of all the bunch of filtered stuff unless I take the effort of looking at the separate feed when I'm in the right mindset.
One super-frustrating UX choice in @Mastodon's "advanced web interface" is that if I click on a post in my Home column to expand it and read replies, the post loads in another column (it has no label and I don't even know what to call it) and the Home column for some insane reason resets its position to the top.
So effectively, I pretty much never manage to read everything that came into my home column while I slept because any time I want to read something in more depth the column resets to the newest posts and eventually I get tired of having to scroll through stuff I've already scrolled through multiple times to find my way back to the older unread stuff.
This has got to be someone's intentional choice to have it do this and it's a terrible experience. The column should stay scrolled to the position of the post that's been clicked on and not take away the user's control over when to go to the top of the timeline.
@medium can you add a meta tag to articles on your platform allowing for author attribution anywhere they're shared on Mastodon?
Your systems know my Mastodon handle for my about page, and
<meta name="fediverse:creator" content="@ davidaugust @ mastodon.online">
(without spaces) in head section of my articles will let people know I wrote them no matter who shares them on Mastodon.
Mastodon's post about this:

A feature request I'd like to file if I can find the submit spot for #mastodon –
…while we can click "Hide" on an image tht someone posts, there doesn't seem to be a way to hide the images in a news link, or website link.
What are those called now? They used to be called TwitterCards in the old place I think.
It's unpleasant to have to see pics of you-know-who or his cronies in your feed even though I *do* want to keep seeing the news toots.
