Jake in the desert<p>Today (September 9) is the 25th anniversary of the North American release of the SEGA Dreamcast. </p><p>I have strange Dreamcast story, I found one in my neighbor's trash a couple years back? 😂 Seriously, people throw out WILD stuff. It was IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX, too, with controllers and a game. 🤯 I just had to grab a cord. Now, I need to GDEMU it (the physical games I want are far too expensive).</p><p>My main goal is to play Gauntlet Legends on it. Cadash is the purest one I know of from the late 80s.</p>

People call some games #Rougelikes or #Metroidvania to describe some difficult to articulate characteristics of a game. What other games deserve to have a whole genre named after them?
I think there's a distinct genre of games I'd call #gauntletLike or #gauntLikes. It's a top down view of a player that can move and attack in any direction. #Gauntlet is such a legend that it deserves credit.

At the end of the night, Mama-san called out the rest of the Butter Angels into the front. The remaining fans & guests cheered and gave them a round of applause. They blushed and formed a #gauntlet for the guests to pass through as they departed, thanking them for their appreciation and kind words.
Genie was last of all.
"Thank you so much. I had a wonderful time."
She turned, but then hesitated at the door.
"Yes, Talia-san?" Mama-san encouraged.
She turned, resolved.
"I have an idea."
