#TrinidadAndTobago recriminalizes CONSENSUAL anal #sex. The punishment is up to 5 years of prison.
This is #totalitarian. The state wants to control even the most private aspects of life.

What is punished is anal between man and man, or man and woman. The law comes from the colonial era.

Pathetic. #Anal sex is just sex, the #stigma surrounding it is irrational and #cringe.

The citizens should rise up against this. Everyone, not just #gay men.

"Even between men, there's misogyny?" Of course. Homophobia is rooted in the hatred of the feminine replacing the "natural and superior" masculinity of men. This is rooted in turn in the belief that women are inferior to men, hence misogyny.

Im reminded of this trend years back where you'd ask someone if they would rather have a gay son or a thot (slang for whore) daughter.

And there was a think piece detailing how this question was all about sending a message of how the worst thing your child could do is to get fucked by a man.

And I'm reminded of this because there's a recent discussion around how #gay men would use "bottom" as an insult. (1/n)

I *love* that when I talk to the zergling about #trans people, #gay people, you name it, their response is always like I’m reiterating the fact that the sky is blue.

We’ll be watching a cartoon with a #transgender main character and I’ll say something about it and there’s just this “yes yes dad, I know all this, why are you telling me this obvious fact?”

I don’t pat myself on the back often but I feel like I did something right if #lgbtq rights are so obvious to them that they literally can’t wrap their head around why someone like #trump either wants to or is even able to take them away.

I’ve said this before but I think it bears repeating. It is *way* easier to explain #lgbtq people to a child than it is to explain #republicans. Explaining that someone feels comfortable in different ways or that some kids have parents who are the same sex, that was like a 10 second sentence and they got it. They still cannot understand the selfishness and utter hatred for others that the #nazi party has for people unlike them. *That* was the hard conversation to have.
