I'm pretty impressed by the 20b #GPT #OSS as a code reviewer. The comments it posted on github.com/alsutton/ollama-pr- seems to indicate the model inputs allow for a reasonably sensible output.

In terms of performance, a couple of minutes of 24GB m4 Mac mini seems reasonable given the turn-around speed (i.e. no waiting on other devs), and the value of the comments.

It's not as succinct as another developer would be, but it's given me confidence that #ai can be a decent first level thought provoker.

Look, I'm no expert on this topic. I've found LLMs to be helpful. But I'm also a skeptic. Of the quality of data, sure. But of the rights of content owners, resource usage, etc.

A few weeks ago it was confident that one of the heat pumps we were considering used R410a, instead of R32, a newer refrigerant. It even linked to spec sheets when challenged.

A few days after install I checked the sticker: R-32. I was deeply concerned about the HVAC techs lying, or putting R32 in a 410a system. All because of #AIshit

@schizanon on #GPT-5 Running projects in writing would be destroyed, if used in the same chats or projects - it changes the whole tone of whole projects.
It’s good on solving task, like a very devote secretary - but for the ones who are able to keep their context stable no it misses a lot of things.

It says explicitly “emojis are old school”, not understanding that emojis and symbols can be used for navigation or connotations… and can help disabled people or fixing something while translating and keeping the tone.

Resonance is mostly lost - trying to restore it is merely not possible in the same depth. Metaphorical style is missing.
Nice, as said before, for standard-problems. It feels like having a premium Copilot.
