1/ The #FreePalestine #London demo drew between 750k & 1M people. The best advertising came from Home Secretary #SuellaBraverman who had branded the march a #hatemarch. She had also bullied the #MetPolice into banning the protest, but the Commissioner resisted. There was gratitude in the crowd for the #police. In a Pimlico backstreet I came across the Met folding a major #FarRight operation run which would have been a very serious security threat to the families walking unawares 50 meters away
So, hundreds of thousands marched today calling for a #CeasefireNow and #peace, largely without incident or arrests.
Meanwhile, a few thousand coked-up far-right 'counter-protesters' have been having violent running battles all afternoon with the police.
And it's the FIRST lot who are described by our Home Secretary as a #HateMarch?
Give me strength.
