#insomnia thoughts: just remembering how our family moved into a house when I was a kid where the previous, very #catholic owners had a holy water font on the master bedroom door, so you could bless yourself as you went past.
I'm wondering about the logistics of the holy water supply. Someone must have had to keep it filled, I guess they would get the local priest to bless some water after mass..? I don't remember there being any sort of holy water dispenser at the church, and I was an altar boy, so I had a backstage pass.
What is the shelf life of holy water? Does the holiness fade with age, or does it mature like whiskey?
If you were running out, could you dilute it with normal unconsecrated water? Would that reduce the holiness? If it evaporated would the holiness go into the atmosphere, or stay behind as a concentrated residue? Could you distill out the holiness somehow? Or dehydrate it, so you could mix up a batch like Tang.
I wish I could go back to sleep.

Listening to bird song at 4am. Still haven't managed to sleep. There was a time when that meant I'd been out late and "enjoying myself" even though i wasn't very happy, and that kind of made me smile. Now i'm pretty happy even if i struggle with disability and PEM related insomnia. Funny how that works sometimes. Makes me think of Joni Mitchell giggling in Big Yellow Taxi.

NB for anyone who may be idiopathic chronic insomniac too. My new sleep doctor put me back on zolpidem (the only thing that knocks me out.) BUT this time - after being off it for couple of years, it wasn’t working. UNTIL I tried Reddit post advice. I bite it (tastes godawful) and leave it under my tongue to dissolve. And nope. Mine is not about sleep hygiene or sun or any other “have you tried this” It’s chronic since I was a child in India which had a lot of sun and no TV or phones. 🤪#insomnia
