Here's the #Iryo train I took from Valencia to Madrid. I also took Iryo from Madrid to Zaragoza, and from Zaragoza to Barcelona, and had a great experience each time.

Seriously, I can't get over how cheap and frequent this service was, and how much nicer it was than flying. And it covered distance so fast—I went from wading at the beach in Valencia to stepping off the train in Madrid amid snow flurries in a matter of hours.
#HighSpeedRail #HSR #Spain

High-speed trains from #Ouigo, #Renfe, and Renfe #Avlo waiting at Valencia Joaquin Sorolla station. Not pictured: the #Iryo train that whisked me off to Madrid at just under 300kph in under two hours.

These trains were so cheap and so convenient, it makes me mad that the U.S. doesn't have them already running up and down the Eastern Seaboard and California.

And I’m now on the return journey, this time in the much more spacious #Iryo Infinita Class seats. This is definitely an upgrade on the Singular class seats.

…still not on Träwelling, though.

Have a picture of my train alongside a French competitor #Frecciarosa

Not impressed with the lack of integration between #Trainline and #iryo so far. On Iryo's website I can reserve food and snacks for the trip, on Trainline, I can only do that in the Singular Bistró class. On the Iryo website I could reserve my seat as an option, not on Trainline.

I decided to go for Trainline, as I support their difficult aim of enabling Europe-wide ticketing. I was hoping I could use Apple Wallet tickets, or maybe import the booking into the Iryo app and maybe manage extras, the way you can do with airlines, but neither seem to be options, despite Trainline normally coping with Apple Wallet.

I'm placing the blame squarely on Iryo, tbh, but it's still a frustrating start to the journey.

Can you travel from #Seville to #Brussels by #train ?

AVE Seville-Madrid at 6:40 AM
Train has become the default way of travelling this route.

#Madrid-Barcelona. 3 operators serve this line (#RENFE, #OUIGO, #IRYO)

#Barcelona-Paris, high-speed service, 7 hours-trip.

Reaching #Paris at 21:18. But the last Paris-Brussels leaves at 21:15... from another station.

Potentially a 15-hour trip, bad connections force you to spend the night en route. No #nighttrain
