Reminder, #Jellyfin is not trying to "compete" with other software.

We're not in competition - We can't "win" because we're not in a race.

We want Jellyfin to be the best it possibly can be because WE USE IT.

We volunteer our time to make it better because WE WANT TO.

What #Plex does or doesn't do is not on my radar because I don't use it.

Same with _____<insert other streaming software here>________. I don't use it, I don't care about it.

I could not care any less what other stream solutions are doing, I only care what we are doing.

We are not a business! We are not chasing money, usage numbers, ticket quotas, or any other imaginary number you may invent for us to be held do. We just want the software to be awesome because WE USE IT.

Glad I've jumped to Jellyfin 2 years ago.

Now #Plex has turned into turd... what's the alternative.
Requirements for me:
-Chromecast support
-Subtitles support (and on Chromecast!)
-TV and movies (no need for audio).

I've heard of Jellyfin but would like to know if one of the above requirements rules it out.

Ha! Nach viel Gefummel läuft der #homeserver mit #jellyfin endlich so, wie er soll. Strato und die gute alte Fritzbox haben ein paar überraschende Hürden bereitgehalten. Leider ist nur IPv4 möglich beim DynDNS, aber das lässt sich verschmerzen.

Just tried out Faster-Whisper to create srt / closed captions for one of my movies in my #Jellyfin library that didn't have one online. It took a good minute to do it but seems right on.
