"The Court has lurched so far rightward that Barrett’s views are sometimes moderate in comparison, but that doesn’t mean she’s liberal or will consistently work to stop Trump’s worst excesses. It likely does mean, though, that she represents the best possibility for liberal outcomes at the Court."

@absinthe :100a:

Spot.

As I have reiterated to them in the past, THEY are to blame for Roe being overturned, They are responsible for the six right-wing #JUSTICES and they are to blame for dooming Hillary's presidential chances by voting Jill Stein and Trump in 2016.

Idea: Each presidential #term the #president shall be entitled to #appoint 1 person to the #SupremeCourt. No more, no less. If the number isn't some exact number? Oh well. (The #Constitution does not set any limit or minimum or even demand that the number be fixed; only #congressional laws do.)

End this gamesmanship with #justices #retiring based on what #president will replace them, and some presidents getting 3 appointments versus one or none.

NYC Bar Association released a report on Tuesday asserting that #Congress has #constitutional authority to establish binding ethics rules for #SupremeCourt, urging lawmakers to create new mechanisms for holding Justices accountable. The report recommends the formation of a Judicial Investigation Panel and an Office of the Inspector General for Supreme Court, citing recent revelations of #ethical #noncompliance by #Justices that have eroded public confidence in the Court. nycbar.org/reports/the-supreme
