Today I'm thinking about various 5e systems ways to address a trapper.
This background usually is an outdoorsy type who hunts using traps and snares.
For trapping baseline WotC #DnD uses Survival with Thieves Tools sometimes applicable.
#ToV has Trapper's Tools.
#LevelUp adds specialties to Survival, including Hunting. It also has both Hunting and Fishing Traps as equipment.
This is a case where I think Kobold Press is better at the merging of game and fiction
