Just released: #swad 0.7! 😎

Swad is the "Simple Web Authentication Daemon". If you're looking for a solution to add cookie/form #authentication to your #nginx reverse proxy, or maybe even a #lightweight alternative to #Anubis which leaves the actual proxying to nginx, this might be for you! It is designed for use with nginx' auth_request, written in pure C, with minimal dependencies (zlib and, depending on build options, openssl/libressl and/or libpam), and compiles to a small binary (currently between 150kiB and less than 300kiB depending on compiler and target platform).

Swad should work on many #posix (and almost) systems. It's actually tested on #FreeBSD (in "production" use, but on a very low-traffic private site), and quick functionality tests also done on #Debian (#Linux) and #OpenIndiana (#Illumos, open-source #Solaris descendant).

As announced, this release doesn't bring any new features (in terms of WHAT it can do), but great improvements "under the hood", that should help performance at least on some platforms, see release notes for swad 0.7.

Read more, and download the .tar.xz (to build and install it 😆) here:

>> A #Linux #smartphone that can be connected to the #dock, but the dock actually has a more powerful inbuilt #processor so it actually works fast when doing desktopy stuff while still being a #lightweight #phone when only doing phone stuff…

Security between the phone and the dock would be a huge problem. Whose responsibility would that be? Phone vendor's or Dock vendor's? Or do they come from the same vendor with same OS, versions in sync with each other? If latter, what's open?

#Boxing

Emanuel #Navarette retained his #WBO #JuniorLightweightBelt by knocking down Oscar #Valdez twice in 5 rounds & knocking Valdez out with a paralyzing liver shot in the 6th. This was a rematch of a previous fight that Navarette also won in a 12 round UD.

Unlike the 1st fight, Navarette dominated Valdez from the start &, while Valdez got a few shots in, he really had no answer for Navarette's power.

No need for a 3rd rematch unless no one else in the Jr Lightweight division will fight Navarette, which certainly is a possibility but, given rubber tire that Navarette was displaying around his midsection during the fight, it wouldn't be hard for him to step up to a fight as a #Lightweight again even though he lost his only fight to Denys Berinchyk at that weight 6 months ago.

I tried a variety of distros years ago but always came away disappointed by something not working. It wasn't until I tried Mint that everything worked first try, and I've stuck with it ever since. I don't even have a Windows install anymore. I wonder how well Linux Lite mentioned in this works for install and hardware recognition?

@kolev @Yiddish Hi,

only regret, took me about 15 years to know about #xmpp.
only 2, to get know about #matrix.

If i would had to choose now, I would take #xmpp, forever... far of being the best :
-#encrypted comm with #omemo protocol
-#various clients, #software or #applications, on several #platforms/#OS (#mobile, #computer)*
-can handle #voice/#video communicaton (#jingle protocol)
-#uncentralized and #federated
-far more #lightweight than #matrix.

it's a bit the cousin of sip for telephony over ip... but matrix just get the big part of cake with millions ;)
I saw in serveral months several disadvantages of matrix, going to become the "#nerds's #whatsapp" as #discord is, somewhat..

on my own, for people I know well : either XMPP, or SIP. If not, emails, phone and SMS..

*I strongly recommend #dino-im for computers (and #postmarketos - it manages #jingle), #monal/#quicksy for #iOS, #conversations/#quicksy for #android (#fdroid)
