#fahrrad #service

We got some feedback on our shared Rust component that we posted a pull request for last week. Let's take a look at that and put up a new version.

Also, I'll probably review some Picture-in-Picture patches!

And if there's leftover time, maybe we'll tinker with TypeScript-powered type checking again!

Today we're going to attempt to accept a more interesting data type in our Rust shared component from Firefox Desktop, and see if the Uniffi binding stuff can deal with that. And then we might try actually embedding this thing and seeing if it works in practice!

Also, I might answer a viewer question about Flash / NPAPI.

Yes, after a few weeks of planned and unplanned absences, I'm back - we're going to continue our exploration of building a Rust component that we can share between Firefox Desktop, Firefox for Android and Firefox for iOS. Exciting!

Even more exciting is that I'm still very much a Rust novice.

Come watch me stumble through it! Starts at 1PM ET:

Today, I'm going to be studying a new version control system, "Jujutsu", which is able to use a Git repository as a backend. There are a number of Mozillians who sing its praises as a superior developer experience over Git (especially those transitioning from Mercurial).

We'll see how much I can absorb about it today. Starts at 1PM ET!

Some of our documentation changes for CustomizableUI bounced last week after we attempted to land them. We need to investigate and get this buttoned up.

After that, we're going to continue our exploration on how we can port one of our JS modules for New Tab to Rust so that it can be shared with Firefox for iOS and Android!
