I've often wondered when Apple would make this decision and go with a numbering scheme like this. Really surprised it's taken them this long.
No iOS 19: Apple Going Straight to iOS 26.

It would be great, if it would be possible to use a tool like #grammarly within Mona ... :-)
So, like cars, the version number will match the next year. Emphasizing how, like cars, each new release delivers zero new quality features. It's just a way to depreciate the value of previous release years.

I was searching for a Mac System 6 emulator and found this awesome site!
It's awesome!
Wow, Ric Ford has taken Macintouch offline. If you were a regular reader, you could really trace the greater zeitgeist within the older generation of (primarily) #Mac users, as Ric's editorial slant voiced more and more frequently what more and more of us came to feel - a visceral hatred of the company #Apple has become under #TimCook. A criminal vendor of "least worst", but bad products.
I had only read sporadically lately, because Ric's Wordfence setup seemed to blanket block VPN users.

In Ivory,I'm unable to get the mac to correct typos, using the right click/select contextual menu.
In Apple apps, I can right click, select correct word and click to swap it in.
But in ivory, the correct spelling isn't subsituted.
Check & Correct Spelling are both on, in Edit/Spelling & Grammer
Any thoughts?

Redesign rumors make some people roll their eyes. Instead of new functions, they want more stability. Does Apple need to put the brakes on features?

I had been planning to buy (yet another) #Mac (this time, a #Mini.) But enough with feeding Tim and friends’ grotesque appetite for (and putting up with high charges for low quality, if shiny, software).
I am going to install a lightweight #Linux desktop (any recommendations?) on my 2011 #MacBook #Air and see how far I can get interoperating with all my data currently held hostage in the #Apple #monoculture. Will report my findings here.

#Writing-related question: seeking recommendations for easy-to-use, free or very inexpensive #shareware, #Mac-compatible #drawing #software for #mapmaking.
Currently I'm working on a writer's bible for the Stationverse, called "The Silmarillisaurus" because of course it is. For my own use, mainly—a shared world would be neat, but if that ever happens it will be a long time from now. This is for me to keep track of everything.
What I have in mind is really basic. I don't have Tolkien's sketching ability, so I figure I'll draw something simple and then try to pretty it up a bit on screen. Drawing and cloning symbols for mountains, trees, etc., along with lines for shores and rivers and roads, then cloning and pasting as needed.
(*Dedicated* map-making software that allowed me to do things like topo lines would be nifty, but I'm not expecting that.)
Untold æons ago, I was actually pretty decent with Illustrator, at least for a non-artist. Those skills are gone now, like tears in rain, and so is a registered copy I can use on anything resembling a modern OS. Simple and cheap is what I'm after.
Oh yeah—I'm also open to working with an artist who can take my crude sketches and turn them into something publishable. I can pay, just not much right now, and I don't want anyone to feel ripped off. You may be noticing a theme here.
