It's only barely big enough for my coffee but this is the biggest I could make it without risking collapse

Found this cool paper on translating 3D models to crochet patterns - computing the crochet mesh as a graph (no AI here, just math).
I wonder if the authors would be willing to share their code with me to try it out

I liked learning a new method to make the ribbing braid pattern, but honestly? I'd do a regular back-stitch half double crochet over this, I think the extra effort outweighs the benefits. It's also less stretchy than a BS HDC, which seems like a downside, but I won't know until I finish!

By sewing the third layer of leaves so that the leaves stand upward a little, I was able to give the pillow some more shape, and it all fits together much more nicely. There are still gaps between the leaves, which I hope won't make the whole pillow too fragile. But the changed geometry definitely reduced the gaps!

In reality, this hat is more slouchy than I like, and the body of the hat is much wider than the brim. But A. I'm very happy that I finished it and didn't just leave it in #wip limbo, and B. I really enjoyed learning short row crochet as a technique. The texture and stretchy ribs are so satisfying!

Crocheting another fake plant as if I don't have enough real ones

Beanie with short row crochet technique in progress - really enjoying learning this and discovering how the colors show up in the pattern!
That being said, I'm going to get even softer yarn next time. It's amazing how stiff crochet can feel, even with the ribs here softening it a bit.
