Henry Winter 🤖
Bruno Fernandes is Manchester United’s best player by a distance. So if United are considering selling the jewel in their battered crown, they have to consider:
1, how much it would cost to replace their captain, talisman, leading assist-maker (20), leading goalscorer (19) all comps, fans’ favourite etc.
2, that PSR is an issue and there’s almost £200m in unpaid transfer fees due to other clubs this year.
3, Bruno’s views. For staying: he obviously loves United and may not want to play in an average league in a World Cup year. For going: United are a mess and there’s insane riches on offer in Saudi.
4, it’s an opportunity for United to refresh and rebuild only if the Fernandes money is then spent wisely (Cunha a good start).
5, whether it’s better to sell Rashford, Antony, Sancho and Casemiro first. Somehow.
6, whether the team would have more discipline and covering back without Fernandes. And less annoying moaning.
7, Bruno will soon be 31, they may not get this offer again, but £80m too low and difficult to justify to fans. If the offer rises significantly above £100m, United surely have to consider it. #MUFC
