So are we still useless?? Interesting timeline of quotes

1) Russel Vought Oct 2024 - “We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work, because they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down … We want to put them in trauma.”2) Excerpt from Fork in the road email Feb 2025 - move from "lower productivity jobs in the public sector to higher productivity jobs in the private sector".3) Scott Kupor Jul 2025We’ve got to really just rethink our entire recruiting efforts,” Kupor said. “I want every really smart person in this country to wake up every day and say, ‘you know what, I want to go work for the government because I can work on super hard problems that are very complex.’”

New FedJobs assessment tests are live and Trolling.

So per the president's executive order, some of the fedjobs positions are starting to utilize assessment tests to apply for positions. I thought many of you would be entertained to learn that the assessment tests include professional and reasonable judgement... The questions are on the benefits of **teleworking**, workplace flexibility, and employee wellness as reasonable accommodations to increase workforce productivity. So spelling out the obvious, the administration that canceled telework and workplace flexibility as wasteful, wants you to prove your basic intelligence qualifications by understanding the opposite.

🇩🇪 Musk’s giant Tesla factory casts shadow on lives in a quiet corner of Germany • The Guardian

「 Almut, a resident of Grünheide, said local politicians were keen to cite the benefits Tesla had brought to the region, but “neglect to mention at the same time the problematic reality that we are subsidising the richest man in the world, who in no way takes any social responsibility for what happens here” 」

Impending Executive Orders on AI

New EOs on AI are being released this week. They sound appalling from both scientific and writing perspectives, with silencing content on managing "misinformation" risks being particularly sinister. An example from the article: "The National Institute of Standards and Technology would also be tasked with revising its AI Risk Management Framework. Originally released in 2023, the updated framework would have to eliminate references to diversity, equity and inclusion, along with details related to misinformation and climate change." nextgov.com/artificial-intelli

OPM Director admits some cuts at OPM may have been too deep

Once voluntary separations are finalized by the end of the year, OPM will be down from 3,110 employees when Trump took office to about 2,000, or around one-third of the agency, according to OPM.  The overwhelming majority of those are from voluntary departures.“I’m quite certain that we may have, you know, made some mistakes where we need to hire back some people,” he told reporters.nextgov.com/people/2025/07/new

💣 Tesla Driver Testifies Autopilot Failed to Prevent Fatal Crash • NYT

「 The driver, George Brian McGee, was driving his new Tesla Model S on a dark, two-lane road in South Florida when his phone fell to the floor and he bent to find it. That’s when he failed to see the road was ending in a T-intersection and a sport-utility vehicle was parked on the other side and two people were standing next to that car 」

AFGE v. Trump: 2nd Update as o July 22

Most of you know by now that at the District Court level, Judge Illston requested the administration to submit SEALED ARRPs and a list of agencies planning to RIF that's due to her tomorrow at 12:00 noon PDT (3pm here in DC).Another new development as of yesterday: The administration has filed  a motion to dismiss the case on August 29 at the District Court level (Judge Illston). Stay tuned. What you may not have followed is, what's going on at the 9th Circuit Court level. After digging into the Court listener website, I found that:The administration was supposed to have submitted a brief to the 9th Circuit last Friday, 7/18.However, last Wednesday, 7/16, the administration filed for a delay, which the 9th circuit granted. The new due date for the brief to be submitted to the 9th Circuit is August 1st.This means it is possible Judge Illston MAY rule on the ARRPs prior to the August 1st brief to the 9th Circuit. This would certainly help drive this case forward eventually back up to SCOTUS assuming Judge Illston and the 9th circuit both rule against the administration, as both courts did previously. But it's not guaranteed. We'll just have to wait and see. BTW, if any of you want to follow along yourself on Court Listener, you'll actually need TWO case numbers, not one. Court Listener is tracking the district court level and the 9th Circuit Court of appeals levels using separate case numbers.District Court (Judge Illston): Case number 3:25-cv-03698 (Northern District of California)9th Circult Court of Appeals Case number: 25-3293Hope all this helps!

The shift marks a pivot away from reliance on Musk's #SpaceX, whose #Starlink & #Starshield #satellite networks have become central to #US #military communications.

It comes amid a deteriorating relationship between #Trump & #Musk, which culminated in a public falling-out on June 5. Even before the spat, ofcls at the #Pentagon & White House had begun exploring alternatives to SpaceX, wary of over-reliance on a single partner for huge portions of the ambitious, $175B space-based #defense shield…
