#children kidnapped in #ukraine by russians, are on a catalogue, treated like puppies! And the #kremlin official numbers are high, russians show this off. This, plus a worsening dictatorship and a worrying war economy in #russia are the premises for the #negotiation of #trump , already trying not to diminish #Putin -the only sensible thing to do-, excluding #Zelensky. If it goes as such, it will end with Putin’s #triumph and soon after more #war will follow. euronews.com/2025/08/08/stolen

"United States special envoy Tom Barrack hinted on July 11 that Lebanon could be taken over by Syria if Hezbollah refuses to disarm"

This is not a ceasefire negotiation. US aren't capable of ceasefires, or negotiations. They, or rather their military industrial complex demands for ever wars, of which Syria+Israel vs Lebanon can easily be one. They use Israel as a battering ram in the region. More people must die for the US

"Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun announced on Friday that the state’s exclusive control over arms “is now a settled and irreversible decision”"
"He reiterated that Lebanon’s current foreign policy excludes any prospect of normalization with the Israeli enemy"
This is completely different from what the US envoy Tom Barrack says. It's almost as if Trump's administration lies to the press..

Ha, ha, ha - Leavitt reads direct statement from her boss as to the events involving Israel and Iran and his response.
A statement of such indecisive language and intent as to actually mean nothing. Could be, or not; maybe will, maybe not.
When asked by reporters what it actually means, Leavitt reads from it again.

Feeling Great yet, America?

On #hiring and #interviewing...

Many ask for it, but no #employer has a legitimate need to know your #salary history. Feel free to decline to provide that; it's none of their business.

Employers say "Oh, but we need to know it. If we offer too little, they might decline our offer!". It's B.S.

If they want to know whether you'll decline an offer, they can make an #offer. You'll either accept it, decline it, or offer to negotiate it. That's how negotiation works, and an offer of employment is absolutely a #negotiation.

The real reason they want this information is because they desperately want to avoid accidentally offering you more than the #minimum amount you will accept. If the position is worth $X to the company, they don't want to offer you $X. They want to offer you $Y, the lowest possible number that keeps you interested in the position. If they don't know what you made in your last job, figuring that number out is much, much harder. Stick to your guns. Your value to the company shouldn't be "approximately what my last position was worth to my previous company".

Push back. If someone from #HR tells you "Oh, but salary history is part of our standard process", politely decline. If they want to #hire you, they'll skip that step. And if they won't modify their #process for your circumstances, maybe you don't want to work for that company, because they won't be willing to vary any of their other standard processes even if your needs require it.
