Apparently parts of the commercial side of the internet were down last night...or Google

Which is complete news to me - oh that's right, that is because I don't use Google or the shite that was down!

However, I am still looking for a new platform for my blog which I haven't posted to for ages...i was thinking Neocities?
Main reason I have not posted new stuff is blogger is owned by google, so they'll simply scrape anything new for their piece of shit LLM!

I’m Leaving the Small Web and Forging a New Path.

I’ve been reflecting on the direction I want to take my work online. While I’ve appreciated aspects of the Small Web and similar movements - especially their love for personal websites - I’ve found that I no longer feel at home within those spaces.

If you've been to my #neocities website you will know how much I love making #blinkies
Any #alexkidd fans out there?

If you don't know Neocities, I highly recommend. It is a web hosting service that you CAN pay for but is still highly functional without paying. Everything must be hand coded but that leaves you with complete creative freedom. Not dissimilar to being a #SelfPublishedAuthor Total freedom but heaps of work and responsibility.

for web accessibility (aimed at indie web authors) is it accurate to say that using the proper html elements is the most important thing you can do, since it makes your site keyboard accessible, but also compatible with reader mode and thus technically able to be used with any colors, font, and input method the user requires?

of course it's still preferable that you do other things as well so that as many people as possible can have the intended experience including your unique style, but i'm just talking about what is the most impactful and that people should absolutely try to do even if doing all of it is too hard.

i want to make sure i get my article right.
