I'm bloody livid!
For some reason, several months ago the GP changed one of my wife's meds from generic to brand named med. For the last three or four months the pharmacy have not been able to get hold of the branded version, so I have to take a (short) walk over to the surgery to request a prescription for the generic! Today is a repeat, so I asked at the pharmacy if they could call the surgery to request the script be changed to the generic, the answer was that the GPs will not allow this, and this was confirmed by the surgery receptionist!
Why?

I will ask if, as the pharmacy text us to say we can collect the meds after they have got them ready, they could message us if they have problems sourcing so that we could request a generic product earlier!

Yet more evidence (which I'm sure you don't really need) on the NHS crisis, this time the delay in transfers from ambulance to A&E is leading to 'car park care' & in extreme cases patients dying yards outside A&E while waiting to be admitted.

This crisis was engineered by the Tories, but now Labour needs to act urgently... yes, they 'inherited a broken NHS', but can an enhanced GP service quickly reduce this problem?

Latest findings from our #BritishSocialAttitudes survey have been published by Nuffield Trust and The King's Fund.

The latest report, based on data we collected in Autumn 2024, has found that satisfaction with both the NHS and social care has continued to decline. 59% are ‘very’ or ‘quite’ dissatisfied with the NHS, a 7 percentage point rise on the previous year, and 53% of people are ‘very’ or ‘quite’ dissatisfied with social care.
