jeffluszcz<p>If your area has nasty smoke right now and you are sick of having to keep checking a website to get the current AQI I made a small internet enabled LED project that glows with the current AQI color. Only needs a NodeMCU/Feather, a NeoPixel Jewel or Ring and some Dupont type wires to connect. See <a href="https://www.instructables.com/PurpleAir-Air-Quality-Status-LED-Display/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">instructables.com/PurpleAir-Ai</span><span class="invisible">r-Quality-Status-LED-Display/</span></a> for really simple instructions and code. jeffluszcz<p>Tried to get a string of WS2811 addressable LEDs hooked up on my bike for last night's Christmas lights ride but kept fighting what I think is a common ground issue and then we had to go. whomp whomp. I usually power from a AD/DC wall adapter so I think I'm not wiring the breadboard power supply grounds to my nodemcu ground and LED ground correctly <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/arduino" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>arduino</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nodemcu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nodemcu</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/leds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>leds</span></a></p>

The board just slides in the underside of the nodemcu, and is easily removable.</p>
DK4HAA - Harm<p>I'm building a <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/WSPR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WSPR</span></a> transmitter using a <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/Nodemcu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nodemcu</span></a> controller, <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/SI5351" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SI5351</span></a> clock generator and GPS module for precise timing. I testet the prototype today. The HF PA uses three BS170 mosfets in parallel and is driven from the 3.3V of the Nodemcu. I did a quick check with my thermal camera. Temperature reading of the BS170 is 75 degree C after 20 seconds. But the more concerning temp reading comes from the Nodemcu having hotspots in the 100° C range. Not good. <br><a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/diy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>diy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/electronics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>electronics</span></a></p>
