Last year I started playing music again after a break of about forty (!) years. It's no exaggeration to say it's transformed my life in so many positive ways, which I'd like to post more about soon.

For now, here's a blog post I've written about that early musical journey. Maybe you'll recognise your own experience too...

Something that struck me while writing the blog post was the huge privilege of even having a musical education, most of it freely available. It's heartbreaking that funding cuts and curriculum restructuring deny so many children this experience.

The theme was written by #ItalianComposer #EnnioMorricone, and has since been #arranged and performed several times by artists such as #YoYoMa, Holly Gornik, and #BrynjarHoff, among others. The theme has been called "unforgettable" and a "celebrated #oboe melody".
