Brits will soon be allowed to use e-gates at more EU airports.

British travellers will soon be able to use e-gates at more EU airports, after negotiations between the UK government and the EU to finalise a ‘post-Brexit reset deal’.

It means UK passport holders will no longer have to wait at manned desks and instead be allowed to use fast-track e-gates usually reserved for EU or European Economic Area citizens.

I had a #passport appointment today, and got a lil bit worried when I saw the 50+ people seated in the Passport Services waiting area, and/or queuing for pre-screening.

As it turns out, you get punted to the front of the pre-screening line with an appt when the time comes, and then they give you a priority number, and I was outta there in 30 minutes. 🤯

Meanwhile I overheard folks in the seating area complaining how long everything was taking.

My advice: make an appointment 😬

"According to court documents filed in the ongoing non-binary passport case, the reason #gender made its way onto the #passport at that time is a fascinating one: the rise of #androgyny and #unisex fashion in the 1970s is apparently why experts deemed it necessary to include a sex marker."

If you're planning to #travel within the US and don't have a #passport or #ReadID, here's my suggestion:

GET A PASSPORT

I mean, why not? It's frankly easier (at least in CA) than getting a RealID — and it's more useful.

That said, you should really have both. It's a drag to show up at the airport without the right kind of ID — there goes the vacation! The kids will not be happy about missing Orlando.

Malta ‘golden passport’ scheme breaks the law, the EU’s top court rules.

The European Court of Justice has ruled that Malta’s “golden passport” scheme violates EU law, forcing the island to scrap the commercialisation of EU citizenship.

The Maltese scheme has implications for the entire bloc, as people who acquire Maltese citizenship enjoy the right to live and work anywhere in the bloc, and to vote in EU elections.
