Google hat Android 16 in AOSP veröffentlicht – jedoch ohne Quellcode für aktuelle Pixel-Geräte. Ohne Device Trees lässt sich AOSP nicht wie gewohnt auf Pixel-Geräten bauen. It absolutely baffles me that Google refuses to provide Android16 AOSP support for Pixel devices.

There has been some unsettling change in the recent release of #Android16 to #AOSP.

As custom ROM makers found out by surprise, #Pixel device-specific source code is missing this time. The code was usually released together with AOSP. Without this device-specific code it's not possible to build or run AOSP 16 on any recent Pixel device. Therefor custom ROMs for Pixel devices based on AOSP 16 cannot be built.

@GrapheneOS is one of the very few (maybe the only!) platforms that do provide excellent default protection against megacorp #espionage and even state actors like #trojanhorses and border espionage by rogue states like #USA, #China, #Russia, ...

One of the few systems that isn't hackable by #Palantir and other bad actors.

If you do want protection, do yourself a favor and switch to #GrapheneOS using a (cheap/used/older) #Pixel phone. Recommended: Pixel 8 or newer.

Sto provando /e/OS su un mio vecchio google pixel 4a e sembra che va una bomba. Provato graphene OS ma mi dava problemi con parecchie app che richiedono google play service. Su modelli compatibili installazione avviene direttamente da browser e richiede un minimo di conoscenza di android. In 15 minuti ho un telefono rimesso a nuovo, completamente degoogleizzato e con un occhio di riguardo sulla privacy. Altamente consigliato.

Artwork I made by creating an abstract pixel art composition as a base image and then mapping it to polar coordinates.

My Google Pixel 7 is not great for realistic lighting.

When I want to show how dark things are, it makes them look brighter. And when I want to show something in the dark, it is impossible to see.

The indifference is real.
