I gave the @forgeandcraft studio website a small refresh. We plan to combine it and the shop into a single site at some point, but for now the landing page is fairly simple. wrote a couple of small art generators, one of which approximating / inspired by work by Vera Molnár. I plan to clean up and upload somewhere soon. Using these for the #WimbledonArtFair #plotterart #creativecoding #generativeart

Below the quote, in a simpler font, it is attributed to Vera Molnár (1924–2023), described as a "pioneer of generative computer art."

Our mini-masterpiece for #WimbledonArtFair May 2025 is available to buy from the studio store.

"Heliocode" was created with a #Nextdraw 1117 and combines poured paint techniques with the more strict stylus dynamics of a coded SVG design. A moment of imperfection still found its way into the pattern. #plotterart

My work explores the concept of emergent properties – how complex systems arise from simple interactions. I am fascinated by the patterns that emerge from repetition and subtle variation.

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘛𝘰 𝘉𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 is a series of drawings created with a plotter. The plotter follows instructions produced by a generative algorithm that creates a unique output each time it runs.

Multiple sine wave oscillation functions, combined with procedurally generated noise, alter the size and orientation of 2,052 straight line segments.

Soft curves emerge from hard edges.
