Una cosa muy interesante que tenía GNUSocial es que funcionaba a base de plugins, casi cualquier cosa era un plugin sobre una fina base.
Por desgracia eso no pudo evitar que se quedara en el pasado, tambien influye que estuviera escrito en PHP, un lenguaje con mala fama.
Mastodon por desgracia no dispone de soporte de plugins, pero hay una solicitud en su Github, por si estáis interesados en el tema.
