Experimentation with technique and colours for a project-in-process: Different monotypes with a lino cut print on top.

There are three engravings, lino- and monotype prints, drying on a line in my atelier. You see one closer up and the two others, each time a bit further away. The monotype is first printed on the page. Its colours are pink, bright lemon yellow, light green and a light blue. They form the basis underneath the lino cut print in black ink. The lino cut is divided in two, one half is on one third of the image and the other part takes two thirds of the space. The one third has a black background. On it are a moon figurine, a house, a road, and one half of the main character, a woman with a sheet over her head that stops just above her ankles. It looks like a funny, a bit creepy, ghost costume. The two third part, has a white background, meaning you see the colours of the monotype, and there you see the other half of the woman. She is wearing a dress and holds a bird in her hand. The sheet covers only her head this time. Next to her is a landscape with a road and river, with mountains in the background. The sky has clouds with the sun peaking through.

The first layer of the engraving, the monotype. Its colours are pink, bright lemon yellow, light green and a light blue.

The lino cut before printing after I finished carving, with the knives used next to it. Plus, a lot of little bits, scraps of the carving.
