As I perform final assembly of various glider parts (landing gear, flight controls, etc.) I am replacing many temporary/keeper parts, such as nuts, and some bolts. (see photo)

The many silver-colored nuts (zinc plated) are ordinary hardware store parts. They are not locknuts.

The few gold colored nuts (cadmium plated?) have a small rounded top where a nylon insert has been added. These are nylon lock nuts...nylocks. Those are the parts I want for most final assembly tasks. (Landing gear locknuts will use cotter pins or safety wire. They withstand greater shock loads and nylocks are insufficient.)

Note that some of the bolts in the photo are threaded along the entire length. Those are not suitable for connecting parts that are subject to shear loads. Instead, you want a bolt with a smooth shank. I am checking every bolt to make sure I have the correct shank length.)

How do I attach the horizontal stabilizer and elevator to the vertical fin?

Now that I have finished all the parts, I can refine the procedure...where to stand, what gets placed first, second, etc.

This reminds me of an old saying in general aviation: There is a simple three-step procedure to start a warm engine. Unfortunately, nobody knows what it is.

My friend said they were thinking oerhaps of using a Command Hook on the back so that the elder could at least hang the body of the phone off their hand while dealing with following the 1-2-3 direction labels.

I don't know the whole Command line of products, but I said I didn't think they'd have a hook big enough for what my friend was thinking.

And then I jumped up and said I'd be right back!

Draft continental #strategy on free movement developed

Free Movement of Persons is an integral part of the #African #integration and along with the African #Passport is one of the flagship projects of #Agenda #2063.

Pursuant to this goal of integration, in January 2018 the Protocol to the Treaty establishing the African #Economic #Community relating to free movement of persons, right of residence and right of establishment was adopted by the #AU Assembly. This was followed in March 2018 with the Agreement Establishing the African Free #Trade Area, the Protocol on Trade in #Goods, the Protocol on #Trade in #Services and the Protocol on Rules and #Procedures on the #Settlement of #Disputes.

As a follow up to this, the #AfricanUnion (AU) and the Regional Economic Communities ( #RECs ) have developed a draft joint continental strategy to accelerate the Right of Entry for the Protocol to the treaty establishing the African Economic Communities relating to the Free Movement of Persons, Right of Residence and Right of Establishment. The strategy aims to ensure that RECs and Member States popularise and promote the adopted African Passport as one of the key #mechanisms through which free movement of persons will be realised.
