An upper income tax and wealth tax bracket defined annually by a multiple of mean GDP per capita, and set at 100%. This rich, and no richer.

If you want to get beyond nx wealthier than today's average citizen, you're going to have to make tomorrow's average citizen richer. Want your slice to be bigger? Enlarge the cake.

N income and n wealth could be really big, it could be possible for individuals to be filthy rich and still have this work, IMO.

American prosperity and perceived poverty - an excellent analysis on a historical, economical, political and psychological level.

Listen till the end of the video (26 minutes) as it's not only about Americans being better off than people in some underdeveloped countries, and not everything is said at being two thirds through the video.

@tg9541 They get it from the “Atlas Shrugged” novels written by #Russian emigrée #AynRand (where the ‘hero’ is a character named John Galt). Her hyper-rationalist #Objectivism philosophy (#empathy is a sin) was perversely melded into the ethos of so-called fundamentalist #Christians already worshipping #prosperity in the #UnitedStates.

I saw an excellent essay on this #American phenomenon entitled “Who is #Jesus Galt?” that has since been ‘disappeared’. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And not a measure of GDP that most people would appreciate!

Despite growth in 2024, living standards fell. Inequality, weak public investment and government cuts threaten prosperity. Labour must offer voters something different

They don’t appear to embarking on that journey - the cult of Thatcher and household 3economics is strong in Reeves.

@EUCommission

Talking about energy transition I wonder how sentiments change that some people express here on this channel. Talking about the ones dripping with cynicism and bile, even on uplifting and positive announcements. Posted by folks who can only think good #EU, bad EU, judging a singular entity. Now dark energy flows so abundant, it becomes painfully clear we need protect and foster beacons of #freedom, #peace & #prosperity. We need #European #union.

☀️ Positive energy
