Y⃒̸̷̝̜̙ͥͥͥngmar<p>Needed a few lengths of concrete beam for another firewood store, but nothing in the right length in my pile.</p><p>So I had to cut one of the longer ones. This took some figuring. Initially I thought the answer was the big jangle grinder with masonry disc, but that is most definitely not the answer.</p><p>The right answer was chiseling through the concrete until the rebar is accessible. Then cutting that.</p><p>But! Cutting rebar under load is dangerous. The solution I came up with is to cut it 90% through and then stop and smash it with a hammer or pickaxe until it goes ping.</p><p>Much safer than it pinching the cutting wheel and flinging it at your face or ripping the grinder out of your hands.</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Rebar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Rebar</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Concrete" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Concrete</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Steel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Steel</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Homestead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Homestead</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Cutting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cutting</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a></p>

guyinahat<p>This <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/rebar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rebar</span></a> bender is worth it's weight in gold.</p>

Perhaps the only remaining reason for skinning an animal. Probably not, usually shoes are fake leather so...I divert into my baby vegan self.</p><p>I am currently contemplating life decisions. I cannot forget to not for the life of God <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jackoff" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>jackoff</span></a> tomorrow. Robert Lawton<p>I've got the bright idea to make <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/windchimes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>windchimes</span></a> that play minor chords. Think "Addams Family" wind chimes. I'm going to make them out of <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/rebar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rebar</span></a> of various lengths and diameters. </p><p>So far I've got a list of minor chords, corresponding note frequencies, a digital piano tuner, rebar, cutting/grinding tools, and a single test note (A7) that sounds great!</p><p>Anyone got any advice for me?</p>
