A wet robin, enjoying a big gulp of water!

An American robin, bent forward towards a big bird bath full of rocks. Their feet are in the water. The plumage is pretty wet, and you can see a big black patch on their copper chest

But we are at the cafe, sitting outside as it is such a beautiful day.
We were joined at the table by this very people-friendly robin!
He stuffed his beak with as much as he could and then flew off...

🌏 Eastern yellow robin (Eopsaltria australis)

The eastern yellow robin is a medium-sized Australasian robin with a grey head and back, bright yellow underparts, and a small white throat patch. In flight, a pale bar is visible on its wings. It is found along coastal and sub-coastal eastern Australia, extending inland in some areas, inhabiting diverse habitats from woodlands to rainforests and even gardens. These inquisitive birds are often seen perched low, on tree trunks or branches, from where they pounce on insects and other small creatures. They are generally sedentary, though some altitudinal migration occurs in winter. Their calls include bell-like piping and a repeated "chop chop" sound. Two subspecies are recognised.

Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1)

Rotkehlchen im Grünen ist ein Acrylgemälde im zeitgenössischen quadratischen Format handgemalt von der Künstlerin Karen Kaspar. Ein Rotkehlchen sitzt auf einem Ast und schaut zur linken Seite. Der Hintergrund ist abstrakt in unterschiedlichen Schattierungen von hellem Grün gemalt. Die orange-roten Brustfedern des Singvogels leuchten aus dem Grün heraus.

Seven Hours Later

My last post was published seven hours ago. I’m hanging in there but really can’t wait for this crap to be over. I’m fasting ahead of a medical test and I am hungry. I barely have a stomach left after gastric bypass surgery, but what I have is really jonzin’ for a snack, know what I mean? No hunger pains yet, which is odd given that I get hunger pains all the time. Maybe my brain is trying to protect my stomach? Who knows.

I can’t eat today, but the birds can.

That is today’s photo a day challenge pic. Blurry backgrounds are fun. Bokeh.

The cats are in a state of hyper allegiance right now. There is a mouse in the house. It was in my home office earlier but it got away. In was later seen in our bedroom but I think it got away again. Both cats are on the hunt so it’s days are numbered. I will catch it and bring it outside if I can, but the feline avengers might not give me the opportunity.

Another robin came in and now has their beak on the grape, that was on the ground after a bite. Both robins are next to each other

The second robin, blurry, is now running away with the grape in their beak. The other robin is looking back... having lost their grape nooo :(
