NHS saved my nephew's life again yesterday. He needed surgery to deal with complications from his last life-saving operation which was performed 25 years ago when he was a very premature baby. He'd been fine until now.

In the last 3 years they have also saved my mum and dad.

We're not a sickly family, btw, this is just how life is for some folk.

I'm so grateful we never had to worry about direct cost of healthcare. We had enough stress as it was.

Private health firms invest £1 billion to expand their OWN facilities, and in exchange they’ll get access to NHS money for the long term. This deal would be disastrous for our NHS, because it would mean more NHS staff being stolen to work in new private facilities.
The private sector does not have their own staff.
The deal will also mean that huge chunks of NHS cash will be taken out in private profit, instead of being used to treat patients.
This is a terrible deal and Wes Streeting must reject it.
If tens of thousands of us take a strong stance now, we can force him not to sign up to it.

"NHS trusts cannot afford to fix their crumbling hospitals because they are still paying out huge chunks of their budgets to PFI companies.
Our NHS is still suffering from the last PFI ventures, why would Wes Streeting sign our NHS up for new ones? Take action and demand that he drop all new PFI plans."

We Own It · Tell Wes Streeting - NO new PFI in our NHS!

Got a parking fine.
£100
For parking in a 'clearly marked permit holder only' space. Except I wasn't, I was parked in a clearly marked Patient Parking space at a private hospital.
I phoned the hospital who told me that this happens all the time and that they'd cancel the fine - they didn't check if we were legitimate patients.
I can only assume that they, and the parking firm - Parking Eye - make shit loads of cash from this ruse.
