I don't think I've ever built a #scalemodel without one or two (or a few) "whoopsies ..."

E.G. when you think a decal pattern is white on the sheet, but is actually clear and you were meant to paint white underneath.

Working on The Headless Horseman #scalemodel from Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow.

I have all I want cemented together for now (the Horseman isn't actually attached). I typically use a combo of #Tamiya Extra Thin cement and MEK to weld the parts together.

I also have a batch of sprue-goo dissolving down now for some of the gaps. The it'll be two part filler and maybe some putty.

It's a big kit, so it should be fun to #airbrush and #paint

Trying to find the time to start reworking #Catwoman

This is a 1/6 old-school polyvinyl #scalemodel I almost finished a few years ago, but then had a Cat-tastrophe with the gloss clear.

So I had to strip her down ... uh ... strip the paint down that is ...

I'll be taking it slow for sure though.

After running a poll on the HLI forums as well ... it looks like #Catwoman will be the first #scalemodel I start on again.

And I just got my kit from Boyd's auction, the 1/35 #Cyclops from The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. From X-Plus models. Looks to be fairly well tooled and fitting. :)

The #Enterprise Refit from #StarTrek The Motion Picture is probably one of the most elaborate lighting schemes of any #SciFi vessel.

All the different modes, blinkers, ramps, transitions, etc. There's a lot to unpack.

And my very first iteration at a NON-Arduino custom control board doesn't make it any easier, LOL ... But I do find laying out PCBs oddly therapeutic.

Still my favorite #StarTrek #scalemodel build.

A small kit, and snap together ... but clean and ~95% accurate for what it can be at 1:1000 scale.

Built as a second pilot version and well enough that it typically becomes my profile banner.

Thankfully, it looks like I'll have more time to do some #scalemodeling in the New Year.

HLI is a fairly small, currently evolving, low-key forum of scale model builders ... We're trying to keep out all the nonsense that comes with big social media stuff.

I still have to mask and paint the cuffs and collar, but the parts need to bake for a bit.

Colors are mostly #ArmyPainter #Warpaints , thinned with #Vallejo Airbrush Thinner and Flow Improver, sprayed through my #Paasche Talon airbrush.

Next up is the base, but that'll mostly be craft paint brushing, washes and dry-brushing. It's the no-fuss part of the build.

Had to extend the flight deck sponson when I discovered a major measuring error, but that’s done and the stern railing is in place. Moving up to the hangar deck level for final detailing, including railings. Again, this is a 1/700 Trumpeter WW II CV-14 undergoing a major transformation into a 1969 CVS-12. #scalemodeling #shipmodeling #essexclasscarriers

I took the liberty of giving this 4D Vision cutaway Saturn V the "MSFC" treatment with red labels on major components. I also updated some of the colors of the original model and removed the clear cutaway covers. I am still waiting for a replacement LES tower (this one was bent when I got it). I had to 3D print two of the S-IC fins as they were also missing (this was a Goodwill find). Quite a remarkable model overall. #nasa #apollo #3dprinting #space #aerospace #scalemodeling
