Had a pretty good weekend.

Played the child versions of our adult characters sneaking into the Witchlight Carnival. We will start the game next session.

The storms Friday night caused 1/3 of our tree in the back yard to break off. We found someone to take care of it the next day. It fell to where it missed the fence.

finished my Sith themed Pinewood Derby car for the race at work today.

Und Höcke, Söder, Orban, bin Salman, Netanjahu… was alle diese Männer gemeinsam haben, ist die autoritäre Grundhaltung, der Wille zur Zerstörung der Demokratie. Manche sind darüberhinaus Faschisten, die bilden aber nur eine Teilmenge der Autoritären. In unserer Zivilisation gibt es zwei gegensätzliche Konzepte, die sich quer durch die Geschichte der Menschheit ständig abgewechselt haben: Zum einen das Prinzip der Gemeinschaft, in der alle Leute zunächst mal gleich viel wert sind, und in der man sich gegenseitig hilft, und zum andern das Prinzip der Ungleichheit. Hier gibt es oben und unten, also Leute, die mehr Rechte haben als andere, und dazu Feinde innerhalb und ausserhalb der Gesellschaft, die dazu dienen, das System der Ungleichheit zu stärken.

Beide Konzepte haben (subjektiv) ihre Vor- und Nachteile. In der freien Gemeinschaft fällt die vermeintliche Sicherheit weg, die ein hierarchisches Raster aus oben und unten verspricht, ebenso wie alle Aufstiegschancen durch Andienern an Mächtige. Deswegen sind auch in demokratischen Ländern rund ein Drittel aller Leute auf der Seite der Autoritären. Dazu kommen die vielen Unsicheren, Unschlüssigen, Bequemen, die sich durch Propaganda (aka Social Media) beeinflussen lassen. Dabei ist es gleich, ob die Propaganda sich gegen Klimaschutz, gegen sexuelle Freiheit, gegen Erwachsen sein als Mann, gegen moderne Energietechnik, gegen post-religiöses Leben, gegen Wissenschaft, Aufklärung und Vernunft richtet, ihr Ziel ist immer die Zerstörung einer Realität, die auf nachweisbare Fakten gegründet ist, und die Abhängigkeit von einem Führer, König oder selbsternannten Präsidenten und der uneingeschränkte Glaube an seine Worte.

Das alles – die beiden Systeme vermischen sich auch noch dauernd – wird tatsächlich noch komplizierter dadurch, dass das dunkle Imperium nicht nur Spassfiguren wie Darth Vader auffährt, sondern den religiös motivierten Kriegern in Bio-Jutebeutelbekleidung (aka Jedi) coole, finstere Gothic-Toons (aka Sith) entgegenschickt, die in puncto Style leider weit vorne liegen (Nichts gegen Bio-Jutebeutel, aber als futuristische Funktionskleidung find ich das unsexy). Does anyone else think Star Wars is a bit muddled? This may be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I haven't delved into much of it outside the OG 4-6, 1-3, Mandalorian, and a couple games. It just seems that there is sooo much out there. Are they cohesive?

I was insanely nervous, but I took a chance and submitted a short story to an anthology( #AllWorldsWayfarer ). Friends, the story was accepted!!!

The story was based on an old Scottish horror folk tale about a fairy type called Baobhan-Sith.
