Just seen a bee on one of the flowers I bought for the balcony. Made me happy.
The little things in life please me a lot. Made this ice-tea myself. Just chilled a big pot of tea and added ginger cordial for spice. Great as a soft drink for adults. (And so much cheaper than buying something similar ready made)
Today:
- we walked this morning for the first time since Tuesday, but it was still too dark to see how high the stream was
- I saw a glimpse of the Alps shining in the sun with a thick glossy snowy coating
- the winter bedding is on the bed and I can’t wait to dive in
Three good things #3goodthings
-we are having brutal afternoon temps but the mornings remain fairly pleasant for now.
-had dinner with a friend last night- very needed for “decompressing”
-cleaned my office over the weekend and now on Monday- it feels a lot easier to work in! #happiness #smallthings #weather
Successfully navigated my hometown’s Aldi on a Saturday without seeing anyone I know!
Such a small thing but spent my lunch break cleaning up my set playlists from bands I've seen live. Still need to fix a couple but I'm proud of this little collection.

I got this zine because @futurebird talked about it, and it's wonderful. It's a double zine: the main text on one side, and quotes and more information on the other. I was reading out the quote about paying attention and got all choked up with emotion.
There's also this beautiful quote:
"the world is full of persons
only some of them human
and life is always lived in
relationship with others"
--Graham Harvey, Animism: Respecting the Living World.
My dog huck is going into the hosptital on Thursday. I've had him over a year and he's grown from a wee pup I held in both my hands, into a big dog who has hold over me.
It's for hip replacement. It will cost a king's randsom, but I can't live my best life unless he can live his #SmallThings
This afternoon:
- finally got a haircut (only 2 weeks late)
- bought a vanilla slice from Dobinsons to share with husband later
- only had to wait 4 minutes for the bus home from Woden
- husband has now suggested pizza for tonight's dinner
When you find a parking space closer than you thought…
I use a trackball, so I still get the pleasure of cleaning out under the ball like you used to have to do with all computer mice back in the day.
It's amazing how much smoother that ball feels after doing so.
That moment at the end of the spin cycle you open the lid on a black wash with white tissue.
I'm working on a mixtape.
It's all #smallthings and #CommunityMedia
It'll be a multimedia experience presented on a dvd-r, featuring cc-by and cc-by-sa stuff, plus material from artists who have directly consented to inclusion and a handful of things from artists that I'm unable to contact but pretty sure wouldn't mind.
Included on the disc will be a catalog of what each thing is, and where you can find more, and who you can pay for it if you like it.
I'll be selling copies of this mixtape for $5 + media mail shipping within the united states.
Each copy will come with a small print catalog highlighting music and other media that I sell, and stuff that my friends make, and stuff that I've found around the world. Each of these things will have a description and a URL and possibly also a mailing address where you can buy copies.
I'm planning to do this once a quarter, but we'll see what happens when the rubber hits the road.

This from #quentinblake spotted in Dahl’s The Witches
I had a book I needed to read in its entirety today before it was due to the library. With my nose buried in it station after station on my commute, and reading it on the sidewalk under the light of my phone, I finished it *as I turned off of the sidewalk to the library's front door*!
I don't want to turn reading into a competitive sport but, if it were, that right there was a perfect game.

Finished my English City Bingo card today. Hull was the final city that I had not spent time at.
OK it's not a Noble prize or anything but
It's actually cool enough to wear a long-sleeved t-shirt, even late morning. So nice.
