JennyFluff :heart_trans: @ WHY - DECT JENN<p>In a couple of hours I managed to recover a huge part of data from an erased <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/floppy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>floppy</span></a> .</p><p>I made flux copy and loaded it to HxceFloppyEmulator, those are the first two images. </p><p>I managed to recover a lot of data with the software RecoveryWhiskers that I am writing.<br>I found some data that looks like a German MS-DOS 6 boot disk with Doublespace. <br>The file system data was properly blanked before it was erased (it's all blank data, I can verify from the flux view).</p><p>The way I recovered data is to slow down the the disk manually. I am baffled myself how well that worked. </p><p><a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/retroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retroComputing</span></a> <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/softwareArchiving" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>softwareArchiving</span></a> <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/RecoveryWhiskers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RecoveryWhiskers</span></a></p>

JennyFluff :heart_trans: @ WHY - DECT JENN<p>I am writing a new frontend software greaseweazle. </p><p>I wish someone paid me for doing this because I am having an <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/adhd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adhd</span></a> problem of not doing the actual paid work until one more thing is done.</p><p>[I am going to link to this project in the future, it's not in a state I want to share it with people that might actually want to use it in the current state yet]</p><p><a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/softwareArchiving" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>softwareArchiving</span></a> <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/floppy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>floppy</span></a> <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/retroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retroComputing</span></a></p>

JennyFluff :heart_trans: @ WHY - DECT JENN<p>For <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/525FloppyDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>525FloppyDay</span></a> I chose to post a picture of a box with disks containing old a new software (as recent as 2000) for <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/apple2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple2</span></a>. </p><p>This box has been a bit of problem for me to read correctly and I think the problem lies that all my drives for archiving have their track 0 sensor calibrated correctly. This box of floppies have been likely written with an Apple Disk 2 - those don't have a track 0 sensor and the alignment can be all over the place.</p><p>I don't have a good plan on how to connect my Apple Disk 2 with a <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/greaseweazle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>greaseweazle</span></a> right now, another solution could be to acquire another 40 track 5 1/4 inch drive and play with the track 0 sensor. <br>Another plan could be to acquire a calibration disk, so I can re-adjust my regular floppy drive I use for archiving, but these seem to be almost impossible to find. Suggestions welcome!</p><p><a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/softwareArchiving" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>softwareArchiving</span></a> <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/retroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retroComputing</span></a></p>
JennyFluff :heart_trans: @ WHY - DECT JENN<p>My pet peeve: </p><p>these maxell <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/floppy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>floppy</span></a> disks. </p><p>They're trouble, even if the surface is clean, they don't read well. Sometimes they read after a few tries, sometimes not. </p><p><a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/retroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retroComputing</span></a> <a href="https://chitter.xyz/tags/softwareArchiving" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>softwareArchiving</span></a></p>
