LRT: Oh, right...I totally forgot about the #AppleEvent today. I guess I'll watch the keynote while I eat dinner and try not to throw my food and utensils at #TimCook's smug arrogant face. He really is the insidiously worst thing to ever happen to #Apple. Even #SteveJobs wasn't as much of a prick as Tim Cook, and Jobs set a high bar for that. Jobs' saving grace was, his company produced amazing products for normal people. Cook's company blatantly creates social #stratification for profit.

My tiny #apple orchard.
Unintentional early #trees (#Treelings), from #seed. Usually, I won't grow until March, as there is insufficient sunlight to promote growth. Winter #apples are shipped and stored just above freezing. You can guess how old the Fresh Produce actually is, based on the fact that apple #seeds need about 90 days of near, or below freezing temperatures for #stratification (to sprout) four trees (so far) that I am #growing here, sprouted in apples purchased in recent week.

In this piece, Gregor Schäfer subjects social #stratification studies to the critique of methodological nationalism,. He addresses this gap by discussing the social positioning of high-skilled #migrants in contemporary societies: Schäfer argues that the theories of #Bourdieu and Vester have not grasped high-skilled #migration thoroughly but also shows that migrant theories inadequately address the sources of stratification.

ICON-Coast encompasses all #coastal areas around the globe within ocean-biogeochemistry model #HAMOCC naturally accounting for two-way coupling of ocean-shelf feedback mechanisms at the global scale.

Results are more realistic (compared to coarser MPI-ESM) in representing a number of variables: the position of the #tidal front in the coastal ocean and the strength of the #seasonal #stratification.
This enhances the realism of the modeled ocean #CarbonCycle.

⚡ Using my first post to announce that I am delighted to have joined the fantastic team of Prof. Anette Fasang at her chair of #microsociology back @HumboldtUniBerlin as a Research and Teaching Fellow. I'm really looking forward to reintegrating into the lively #Berlin research community after a wonderful Postdoc at the Department of #Sociology @UniOxford.

I will be working on topics around #familydynamics, #wealth, #lifecourse, #stratification, #gender, #socialdemography etc.
